68 State a fully instrumental song by Gorillaz, first appearing as an exclusive bonus track on the Japanese edition of the band's second studio album, Demon Days, and as a B-side track on the limited edition 7" picture disc release of the single Feel Good Inc.
Later on, it was featured on the EP Series release of Feel Good Inc. and afterwards as the first track on the band's second compilation album, D-Sides, where it gained the most recognition.
Information[]
Not much is known about the background of 68 State, as it was never addressed on any interviews or conversations between band members, nor was it ever played live.
A few years after its original release, 68 State was further developed alongside Highway (Under Construction) into the song Repetition Kills You by English electronic music duo The Black Ghosts, consisting of Simon Lord and Theo Keating, featuring Damon Albarn; the lead single from their self-titled debut studio album. The single was released on December 2007, not long after that of D-Sides, while the album was released on 16 June 2008 in Japan and 7 July in the UK.

Trivia[]
- The title is based on the U.S. highway naming format, presumably one called '68 State'.
- Repetition Kills You is the third collaboration between Damon Albarn and Theo Keating, who had previously made two remixes of Gorillaz songs: a remix of 19-2000, titled 19-2000 (The Wiseguys House Of Wisdom Remix), and an unreleased remix of Last Living Souls, titled Last Living Souls (Touché Remix).
