Alicaì Harley (b. September 17, 1996) is a Jamaican singer, rapper, and songwriter based in the UK.
Role in Gorillaz[]
Harley collaborated with Gorillaz in 2021 on the track Déjà Vu from the Meanwhile EP. She performed the song live on the Song Machine Tour. On September 2, 2021 the Live from London performance of Déjà Vu was published on the official Gorillaz YouTube channel. On the same day Alicaì Harley hosted a Q&A Livestream about Déjà Vu on Gorillaz' Instagram.
Musical career[]
As the artist behind the singles Yamaha, Tek It To Dem and Put in On You, Harley is one of Europe’s biggest dancehall musicians today. She has performed at festivals such as London Black Pride and Glastonbury, and was made the cover of the Spotify category This is How We Do. She released her first EP, The Red Room Intro, in February 2021, not long before Gorillaz would release their collaboration with her on Meanwhile. She has also worked with artists such as Karma Cruz, Chan, Ayo Beats and various others.
