Anthony Hamilton (b. January 28, 1971) is an American singer, songwriter and producer from Charlotte, North Carolina.
Role in Gorillaz[]
Hamilton collaborated with Gorillaz on the track Carnival from their fifth studio album Humanz. He later joined Gorillaz on Humanz Tour.
Musical career[]
Hamilton initially rose to fame after the release of his 2003 sophomore album Comin From Where I’m From. He previously wrote 90s R&B hits like U Know What’s Up by Donnell Jones and was a backup singer for soul singer D’Angelo. He is also best known for writing the song Freedom from the movie Django Unchained.
