Benjamin Sainte-Clémentine (b. December 7, 1988) is an English artist, poet, composer, musician and actor.
Role in Gorillaz[]
Clémentine collaborated with Gorillaz on the track Hallelujah Money from their fifth studio album Humanz and appeared in it's music video. He has joined Gorillaz on stage during their show in Bilbao as a patt of The Now Now Tour.
After the release of Humanz, Benjamin expressed regret on Instagram about his collaboration on the album, saying in response to comments regarding another Gorillaz collaboration: "I will hate it! The biggest mistake I have ever made for my career!"
Early Life[]
Clementine was born in Crystal Palace, London, but grew up in a middle class family in Edmonton, London. The youngest of five children he grew up with his strict Roman Catholic grandmother, and after she died, he moved in with his parents. He found himself particularly drawm to the literature of the Bible as well as poetry, especially the works of William Blake, TS Elliot and Carol Ann Duffy.
Career[]
Benjamin Clementine has released two EPs, Cornerstone (2013) and Glorious You (2014) and two studio albums, At Least For Now (2015) and I Tell A Fly (2017). He made his acting debiut in the 2021 film Dune as the Herald of the Change.
