The hole in the Carpark wall leading to the bunker.
The Bunker is a "secret" location accessible through a breached wall in the Carpark at Kong Studios. It is not accessible from any of the directories/maps and can only be accessed through the Carpark itself. Although It could be easily accessed on the Phase Two: Slowboat To Hades DVD. [1]
Phase 2[]

The initial corridor of the Bunker at the bottom of the lift.
At the start of Phase 2, Demon Days producer Danger Mouse crashed Murdoc's Winnebago in the studio Carpark; revealing a previously walled off World War II era Nazi bunker at the bottom of an elevator shaft. The elevator shaft leads to a corridor that provides access to a radio room (directly ahead of the lift) and a food storage room directly to the right of the lift. Down the bunker's main corridor leads to a Boiler Room. Descending down the stairs beyond the boiler room leads to the Hell Hole. The original purpose/function of this room has since been lost to time as it was presumably gutted and excavated for the use of the Hell Hole.
In the room containing the Hell Hole, there is another door that is locked. Considering the presence of the Nazi bunker in Essex, United Kingdom, it could be speculated that the door lead to either an ascending or descending ladder shaft (commonly found in multi-floored WW2-era German bunkers), additional storage/rooms, or a no longer accessible exit from the bunker to the exterior of the building.
Due to the bunker's lack of apparent armaments, the presence of the radio room would imply that the bunker was not used as a fortification but as a listening post used to intercept intelligence from British radio communications in the 1940s.
Connecting Rooms[]
- Bunker Elevator Shaft (entrance)
- Radio Room
- Food Storage
- Boiler Room
- Hell Hole
Trivia[]
- The contents behind the Hell Hole door are unknown but, examining the layers of the room in an editing software to remove the door reveals another passage but no functionality attached to it.
- The hole in the Carpark actually connects to an elevator shaft that goes down to the bunker. Unfortunately, this in-between room is not accessible in current restorations of the Gorillaz Room due to stability issues in which accessing the room containing the lift to the bunker itself crashes the software.
- At the time of Phase 2, there weren't any confirmed cases of Nazi bunkers hidden in the United Kingdom but, one was actually discovered at the site of the Alderney Nunnery in 2021; making the presence of a WWII German fortifications in the United Kingdom a very real possibility. [1] [2]
