Intro is the first track on Gorillaz' 2005 album, Demon Days.

Background & Recording[]

The track was added as a way to bring the listeners into the album as well as to set the mood of the entire album in general. The track was described by both Noodle and Murdoc as having been added in order to place the listeners in a "surreal atmosphere" and "separate them from reality". Most of the audio for the Intro is actually slightly altered audio from zombie filmmaker George Romero's classic zombie film, Dawn of the Dead, the most notable being Dark Earth by Don Harper.[1]

Lyrics[]

[Highly distorted voice of Roots Manuva]
Who put the chemicals in the food chain?
Who put the chemicals in the food chain?
Who put the chemicals in the food chain?
Who put the chemicals in the food chain?

Who put the chemicals in the food chain?
Who put the chemicals in the food chain?
Who put the chemicals in the food chain?
Who put the chemicals in the food chain

Who put the chemicals in the food chain? (chain)
Who put the chemicals in the food chain? (chain)
