Little Simz

Simbiatu "Simbi" Abisola Abiola Ajikawo (b. 23 February 1994), better known by her stage name Little Simz, is a British-Nigerian rapper, singer and actress of YorubaW heritage.

Role in Gorillaz[]

Little Simz provided vocals for the single Garage Palace, which was featured in the Super Deluxe edition of the album Humanz. She also appears in the visualiser for the single.

Simz would later on join Gorillaz on the Humanz Tour, occasionally performing on the tracks We Got The Power, Clint Eastwood and Garage Palace, as well as being the opening act of the several shows. She was also part of the lineup for Gorillaz' Demon Dayz Festival at Margate, where their collaboration was first premiered. Simz later joined the band on The Now Now Tour, Song Machine Tour and the yet undisclosed date this year.[1]

Little Simz is also the featured guest on the fourth episode of Russel's podcast series Things I Like.

Musical Carrer[]

Following the release of four mixtapes and five EPs, she released her debut album A Curious Tale of Trials + PersonsW on 18 September 2015 through her independent label, AGE: 101 Music. The album entered the UK R&B Albums Chart at number 20 and the UK Independent Albums Chart at number 43. She released her second studio album Stillness in WonderlandW in 2016. Her third studio album Grey AreaW (2019) won Best Album at both the Ivor Novello AwardsW and the NME AwardsW as well as being nominated for the Mercury PrizeW. Her fourth album, Sometimes I Might Be IntrovertW (2021) also received critical acclaim. It won the 2022 Mercury Prize, and earned her the 2022 BRIT Award for Best New ArtistW and the Libera Award for Best Hip-Hop/Rap RecordW. Her fifth album, No Thank YouW (2022), was released to critical acclaim. Simz's sixth studio album LotusW, was released on 6 June 2025.
