Philip Cornwell (b. October 5, 1957) is a British actor, voice actor, comedian, impressionist and writer, best known as the voice of Murdoc Niccals.
Role in Gorillaz[]
Phil Cornwell is the voice actor for Murdoc, the bassist of Gorillaz. He voiced him since the band's creation.
In 2017, he appeared in the Strobelite music video where he gives a mysterious card to Murdoc. This character and scene later became more relevant in the #FreeMurdoc campaign as Murdoc said the man was a smuggler named "El Mierda" who framed him for one of his crimes. Though later on, Noodle found out Murdoc lied and the man was just a leather goods salesman named Juan.
Career[]
Cornwell is probably best known as being a part of the Dead Ringers television and radio series. Cornwell has co-written and performed principal roles in The Glam Metal Detectives and Stella Street. He is also well known as DJ Dave Clifton from I'm Alan Partridge and Alpha Papa.
