Terrence LeVarr Thornton (b. May 13, 1977) better known as Pusha T is an American rapper from Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Role in Gorillaz[]
Thornton, along with gospel singer Mavis Staples, collaborated with Gorillaz on the track Let Me Out from their fifth studio album Humanz. He later joined Gorillaz on Humanz Tour.
Musical career[]
Pusha T initially rose to fame as one half of the hip hop duo Clipse. In 2010, Thornton signed to Kanye West’s GOOD Music label and was subsequently featured on West’s 2010 single Runaway, which peaked at #12 on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2011, he released his debut solo mixtape Fear of God, and in 2013 he released his debut solo album My Name is My Name, which was then followed by King Push – Darkest Before Dawn: The Prelude in 2015 and Daytona in 2018. West appointed Pusha T to take over his role as president of GOOD Music in November 2015.
