Rita Ekwere (b. August 2nd 1994), better known by her stage name Ray BLK, is an Nigerian-born British R&B singer from Catford, South London.
Role in Gorillaz[]
Ekwere is featured on the track The Apprentice from Gorillaz’ 2017 studio album Humanz. The song also features Rag’n’bone Man and Zebra Katz.
Musical career[]
Ekwere became the first unsigned artist to win BBC’s Sound of 2017 after releasing her debut solo mini album Durt in 2016. She is signed to Island Records’ UK branch.
