Roberto Occhipinti is a Canadian bassist, musician, composer and multi-instrumentalist. He played bass on the North American part of the Gorillaz LIVE tour in 2002.

Roberto Occhipinti played bass in the Gorillaz Live Band during the North American part of the Gorillaz LIVE tour. He became the new main bassist, replacing Junior Dan after he got jailed because of several drugs and firearms charges in 2002.
Musical Career[]
Occhipinti is a jazz performer who gained notable success in both jazz and classical music. He was nominated for a Juno Award for Contemporary Jazz Album of the Year two times, first at the Juno Awards of 2006 for his album Yemaya and later at the Juno Awards of 2009 for A Bend in the River. He often collaborates with his younger brother Michael Occhipinti in the Neufeld-Occhipinti Jazz Orchestra and Creation Dream. He had also performed as a member of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, the Hamilton Symphony Orchestra and the Canadian Opera Company.
