Shaun Ryder's Disembodied Head appears in the DARE Music Video for Gorillaz's second studio album Demon Days. The head is Shaun Ryder.
DARE Music Video (August 2005)[]

In the DARE music video, Noodle opens a partition in her Room at Kong Studios. Here Shaun Ryder, a collaborator on the track, is shown as a disembodied dead that is turned on by switches. As the buttons and switches are activated Shaun starts singing the lyrics for the song. As the partition closes at the end of the music video, the camera zooms into Noodle's eye which then transitions into Shaun Ryder waking up suddenly next to Murdoc. Then Murdoc wakes up rushingly in the Winnebago. It is later mentioned in Gorillaz's autobiography; Rise Of The Ogre that Shaun spent hours in his contraption to complete the video. Little behind-the-scenes snippets of this can be seen on the DARE Single DVD.
Gorillaz.com at Kong Studios (August 2005 - July 2008)[]
Pre-El MaƱana and Noodle's Disappearance (August 2005 - April 2006)[]

Meanwhile, at Kong Studios on Gorillaz.com, Shaun's head was accessible through Noodle's room on the site. Her room would feature the partition featured in the music video which opens up to Shaun Ryder's head looking dehydrated or just straight up in bad condition. To keep Shaun in good condition; the player would have to insert chemicals into the tubes that were seen in the DARE music video. Shaun would then throw up a gift box containing screen savers and wallpapers as a prize for the player. This would be done after Shaun, in spaces, would say "It's coming up".
Post- El MaƱana and Noodle's Disappearance (April 2006 - July 2008)[]
Before shooting the El MaƱana Music Video, Noodle was planning on leaving the band after making the last music video for the album. Around this time boxes would appear in Noodle's bedroom. Then after the tragic El MaƱana video shoot and Noodle's disappearance, Shaun Ryder's head was left long after Noodle went missing. From April 2006, the time of the El MaƱana music video, and July 2008, The time when Kong Studios was burnt down by Murdoc, Shaun remained in Noodle's room. It was the only attraction/thing to see in her room.
Slowboat To Hades (October 2006)[]

After the Rise Of The Ogre - Noodle's Transmission, days later With the Gorillaz website slowly becoming more inactive with Noodle's disappearance, Gorillaz would release the Phase Two: Slowboat To Hades DVD. The DVD wouldn't feature Noodle's room, as it is thought that Noodle's room had completely been destroyed by this point in Kong (As Slowboat To Hades was the most updated version of Kong fans would get). Despite there being no trace of any band members, Shaun's head was still featured. It is revealed that Shaun's head eventually shrank back to its normal size, as he is the same size as the band members, from the lack of chemicals being pumped into his head. He was stuffed into the Studio Kitchen refrigerator where he was forgotten when the band left the studio. It is never explained how his head was relocated from the closet to the kitchen fridge.
