Strobelite (Armageddon Turk Mix) is a remix made by Turkish-English music production duo Armageddon Turk, specifically member Orkun Tunç, of the single Strobelite by Gorillaz. Like the original song, it features lead vocals and keyboards by American singer and musician Peven Everett and backing vocals by The Humanz Choir.
It was released on 30 January 2018 when it was posted to the band's official YouTube, being the final remix off of a Humanz song to be released.
Recording and Information[]
The remix was commissioned by the band around August 2017, around the time when the music video for Strobelite, the requested song, debuted. Production for the remix was initially started by Orkun on his mother's laptop in Instambul, and later finished with his partner, Erdem Helvacioglu, in New York City. Orkun stated: "It was such fun time and the band set us free to do whatever we wanna do... Total freedom!".
Interestingly, despite being finished months prior, the remix only debuted on January 2018, around four months after the previous Humanz remix, Busted And Blue (Yotto Remix), was released. For unknown reasons, it was the only remix from Phase Four to have not been added to most streaming services. As such, it was left out of most versions of the Humanz Remixed compilation, only being included on the YouTube Music version. Later, on the 13th of July of that same year, the duo posted the remix to their official SoundCloud account.
While it was never officially made available in a lossless format due to the aforementioned reasons, an uncompressed WAV version of the remix was present on a late 2024 Warner Records leak, consisting of various pieces of internal use material from Phases 4 & 5, though it was only in late 2025 when it began to gain traction.
Lyrics[]
[The Humanz Choir]
You're living the strobe light
You're living the strobe light
[Peven Everett]
Momentary pain
Can be pleasure lain
Millisecond change
Magic lantern strange
Are we just too far, to be as one again?
Are we obsidian?
Is this how it is?
Girl, your life will turn
Just like a strobe
'Cause your daddy's vain
And your mother won't
And your heart engages into heartless throes
Are we obsidian?
Is this how it goes?
[The Humanz Choir & Peven Everett]
If when your private life is dreaming
You're living the strobe light
And you will find the life you're needing
You're living the strobe light
[Peven Everett]
Slide the light off you
You may find some peace
All will come to you
If you come with me
Are we just too far to be as one again?
Are we obsidian?
Is this how it ends? (Yeah)
[The Humanz Choir & Peven Everett]
If when your private life is dreaming (when your private)
You're living the strobe light (living the strobe light)
And you will find the life you're needing (when your private life is dreaming)
You're living the strobe light (strobe light)
[The Humanz Choir]
You're living the strobe light
You're living the strobe light
[The Humanz Choir & Peven Everett]
And when your private life is dreaming
You're living the strobe light (you're living the strobe, when your private life is dreaming)
And you will find the life you're needing (you'll find the life you're needing)
You're living the strobe light
And when your private life is dreaming (when your private life is dreaming)
You're living the strobe light (living the strobe, living the strobe)
And you will find the life you're needing (you will find the life you're needing, yeah)
You're living the strobe light
Pa-pa-pa-pa-ra
And when you got it
And then you dreaming
(You living the strobe light)
You hit the light
(When your private life is dreaming)
Pa-pa-pa-pa-ra
You've got to find it
You know you need it
(Like you need it)
(You're living the strobe light)
Pa-pa-pa-pa-ra
(When your private life is dreaming)
And then you're dreaming
(You living the strobe light)
(You living the, living the)
You've got to find it
You know you need it
(You living the strobe light)
You're living the strobe light
