Jamal Gray better known as his stage name  The Last Emperor (b. 1978) is an American underground rapper from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Role in Gorillaz[]

Gray provided rap verses for the Spacemonkeyz song Spacemonkeyz Theme. Gorillaz had him perform alternate rap verses on Clint Eastwood and Rock the House during the American dates of the Gorillaz LIVE tour in 2002. He also performed an alternate rap for a short rendition of the Busta RhymesW track 'Pass The Courvoisier' in interludes during the tour.

Musical career[]

Gray is probably best known for being the featured artist in the KRS-One track C.I.A. (Criminals in Action) alongside Zach De La Rocha. His career was kickstarted after becoming a protege of Dr Dre and singing to Aftermath, before singing to Rawkus Records in 2003. He has released six studio albums and two mixtapes so far in his career since 2000.
