Trueno

Mateo Palacios Corazzina (b. 25 March 2002), better known by his stage name Trueno, is an Argentinian rapper and singer-songwriter from La Boca, Buenos Aires.

Role in Gorillaz[]

Trueno unexpectedly joined Gorillaz on stage at the Quilmes Rock^W Festival in Argentina, during their 2022 world tour, to perform the song "Clint Eastwood".^[1] He was featured alongside Proof on The Manifesto, a song from Gorillaz' ninth studio album The Mountain.

Musical career[]

With his father, known as MC Peligro, already famous in the Argentine hip hop scene, Trueno was crowned champion of the ACDP Zoo Juniors tournament at the young age of 14. In 2017, he also won the Crossing of Champions contest. Then, in 2018, he participated in the FMS Argentina, but placed last; however, the following year, he competed a second time and subsequently won. Additionally, on 21 October 2019, he was crowned national champion of Red Bull's Batalla de los Gallos Argentina freestyle competition.

On 23 July 2020, Trueno released his debut album, Atrevido. The song "Mamichula", a collaboration with fellow Argentine artists Nicki Nicole and Bizarrap, topped Billboard's Argentina Hot 100 chart. In just over a month, the official video for the song surpassed 100 million views on YouTube, and, as of 2025, has been watched over 633 million times.

Trueno is recognized by many fellow artists, of all ages, for his creative lyricism, flow and style. Throughout his young career, he has worked with numerous renowned artists, from both Argentina and abroad, including Cypress Hill, J Balvin, Rusherking, Tiago PZK, KHEA, LIT Killah, Duki, María Becerra, Nicki Nicole, Nathy Peluso, Feid, Bad Gyal. Underdann, Alemán, Víctor Heredia, Bizarrap, Bhavi, Halpe, WOS, XOVOX, C. Terrible, Young Miko, DJ Premier, Brray, and Shaolin Monkeys, among many others.
