Vince Jamal Staples (b. July 2, 1993) is an American rapper, singer, and actor from North Long Beach, California
Role in Gorillaz[]
Staples collaborated with Gorillaz on the track Ascension from their fifth studio album Humanz. He has since performed the song live with Gorillaz on various tour dates and even at his own solo shows. He was also a part of the lineup for Gorillaz’ Demon Dayz Festival.
Musical career[]
Staples first came into prominence after releasing his solo mixtape Stolen Youth. He is a member of the hip hop trio Cutthroat Boyz and was once a close associate of hip hop collective Odd Future. He is perhaps best known for his singles Norf Norf and Big Fish Theory. Staples has also had a few acting roles in tv shows, films, and commercials since his initial claim to fame.
