Background[]
| “ | It's such an honor to be a part of the album, because, I mean, it's after so many years alongside so many crazy names, even, just like, that Gorillaz have worked with, it's insane. | „ |
| ~ Moonchild Sanelly, Song Machine With Friendz |
With Love to an EX was recorded sometime in mid-2019,[1][2] supposedly in the same week as Simplicity and an unreleased track with Massive Attack,[3] and eventually released on the Deluxe Edition of Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez. It is also featured on Noodle's Super Cool Song Machine Mix.
Lyrics[]
[Intro: Moonchild Sanelly]
He, he, he
[Verse 1: Moonchild Sanelly]
Where I'm from, they said I live on a cloud
Simply 'cause I just dreamt too much
Black sheep but I am all blue now
It's the start but I've done blew up
I haven't done none, yeah the travel's tough
Light white sands and the waves too far
They said no, I said that's too tough
Went to Google, bombed their systems down
[Chorus: Moonchild Sanelly]
Ex-n****s blowing up my DM
Wanna meet for lunch, breakfast or a dinner
Banesidina, asidiki, sesagqiba
Banehaba, andisoze ndabashiya
Ex-n****s blowing up my DM
Wanna meet for lunch, breakfast or a dinner
Banesidina, asidiki, sesagqiba
Banehaba, andisoze ndabashiya
[Bridge]
Ndifun' ibars, ndifun' ipounds, ndifun' imali
Ndifun' ibuz, ndifun' ibusy, ndifun' ifuni
Ndifun' ichange, ndifun'ifun, ndifun' isexi
Ndifun' indoda, ndifun' umfazi, ndifun' ichanji
Ndifun' ibars, ndifun' ipounds, ndifun' imali
Ndifun' ibux, ndifun' ibusy, ndifun' ifuni
Ndifun' ichange, ndifun'ifun, ndifun' isexi
Ndifun' indoda, ndifun' umfazi, ndifun' ichanji
[Chorus: Moonchild Sanelly]
Ex-n****s blowing up my DM
Wanna meet for lunch, breakfast or a dinner
Banesidina, asidiki, sesagqiba
Banehaba, andisoze ndabashiya
Ex-n****s blowing up my DM
Wanna meet for lunch, breakfast or a dinner
Banesidina, asidiki, sesagqiba
Banehaba, andisoze ndabashiya
[Verse 2: Moonchild Sanelly]
Ex be like, "You dream too much, you're out too much
You are too much, I want to munch
I love you but, you've got big butt
All the boys want, want what I got
Want what I got
Want what I got
[Chorus: Moonchild Sanelly]
Ex n****s blowin' up my DM
Wanna meet for lunch, breakfast or a dinner
(Want what I've got)
Banesidina, asidiki, sesagqiba
Banehaba, andisoze ndabashiya
(Want what I've got)

Trivia[]
- Moonchild Sanelly sings parts of the track in Xhosa, one of the Bantu languages.
- Not long after the album's release, rumours of an unreleased Machine Bite featuring Sanelly started circulating around the Internet, carrying along with them an audio snippet of her talking about the song's lyrics, giving to people the impression that it was once planned to have had a single release like other songs from the album. The Machine Bite, however, was later proven to be fake, with the audio snippet simply being from a different interview with her.
